effective PvE assassin build

I've been using this build for a while for my assassin and it seems to be working quite well in all areas of Nightfall that I've been to so far. The damage output per cycle is pretty good. Around 200-300 damage if you're against a single enemy and heaps more if you're fighting a clustered mob. Death Blossom kicks insane amounts of ass.

I always start the attack off with Black Mantis Thrust (BMT) and then use Jagged strike for flesh enemies and while BMT is recharging. Keeping Critical Eye up during combat means you almost never have energy management issues. It's very rare to run out of energy with this build. As an additional bonus, since Critical Eye is a skill, it can't be removed by enemies.

Don't really need any special items or equipment for this though obviously some runage doesn't hurt

My assassin doesn't really have any elites yet, so if you have any elites in mind that I can stick in there feel free to make suggestions.

That's it. Now I'm going back to kicking ass in the game



PS. Dash is only there because I get bored running at the same pace all the time :p

Note: Just thought I'd mention that you need some decent monkage happening because this build is geared for dishing out damage, not taking it. The assassin's paper-thin armor will still tear if you get poked too much by enemies

phew! he's just outside Maatu keep which is just a bit before where i stopped in the Factions campaign. so off i go to cap it. i'll let you know what i think of it once i've had some time to try it out

errr drop shadow refuge and take critical defence or so.
Also drop dash for some sort of shadowstep skill (inward) and drop rebirth for another shadowstep skill (outward).

i'll take your advice on the shadow refuge and dash replacements, but as a principle, i never leave town without a res of some type. i personally think it's rude towards your teammates if you don't bring one and you end up being the only one alive at some point :p

and yes, moebius strike is hot, but i never even got that far with my assassin in factions hehe

skill: jagged strike(fast recharge), wild strike(fast recharge), death blossom ( fast recharge and decent damage), golden lotus strike (energy recharge), Vigorous Spirit(gain 13hp on each hit, also it is an enchantment to meet the requrieement of lunching Vigorous Spirit) or use mending, Healing Breeze, falling blade (E) or change to dash or other shadow step skill; it is depends on ur style. Resurrect.

advantage: high ability of svrviving; with Vigorous Spirit and Healing Breeze, you have 7 heath regeneration in 15 seconds and 13hp on each hit in 30 seconds; plus 75% to block in 30 seconds (from falling blade); this means even u ran in to a group of monsters, it is not easy to die in 30 seonds.

disadvantage: 1.not very high pike damage; to me i think it is alright, because i want to lanch death blossom as much as possible, if my leap and off hand attack too high, i won't have chance to lanch death blossom (u can not always pick a monster with full blood in the middle of a battle and i am not afraid boss ( 8 to 1 in anyway i can kill him), i m afraid swam, so i need decent area attack.) 2.no hex and condition remove: u have monk do u? or if ulike change falling blade or Resurrect to Purge Conditions, it is all up to u.

advange: high pike some with conditions.
disadvange: 1. less self-protective, u can chande dash to some protective skill like Critical deffence or shroud of distress
2. a little bit problem on energy manangement, but the main chain only need 5 energy, so you won't wait long. you can use rune to add your critical to 13 s oyou get 3 energy on every critical strike, i didn't tried don't know how is enery management.
3. no condition or hex remove but you can change dash or Resurrect to Purge Conditions.
golden fang strike (deep wound for 13 seconds and 4 seconds for recharge), dash or Resurrect to Purge Conditions


PVP version:

3.you can change falling blade or dash to way of fox to avoid to be blocked

this build has high survie ability,but low pike damage

this build has high pike damage with conditions, but it can't kill the taget in one go (jagged strike,golden fang strike, death blossom, plam strike,death blossom, plam strike, death blossom or plam strike, death blossom,jagged strike,golden fang strike, death blossom, plam strike,death blossom ). there will be 1 to 2 seconds gap between 2 chans (wait the golden fang strike recharge) and if target cast protective spell or give u conditon like blind it is can be very irnoring. you do can keep pressure on enemy, give ally time to finish others; or if you chose target wisely, you can kill a taget under 10seconds and withdraw safely, wait to charge in again.

I think there are a lot of good build, depend how do u use it, i try some other build; it is great, but just i do know how to use it. very rare to assassin in Hall of Heros or in GVG, why?

wa, i don't think i've ever even been to hall of heroes with any of my characters, so i wouldn't know anything about how often assassins are used in it

i've come up with something that seems to be working pretty well, but since i'm not on my desktop right now i can't remember exactly what the skills are. i'm DEFINITELY loving Assassin's Promise though! i'm going to get that for my elementalist char as well soon as i can. how friggen awesome will it be?!? firestorm after firestorm after firestorm! mwahahah!

you mean use that elite skill or whatever it is that increases your crit % for non-dagger weapons? and then hex them up from far away? something like that?
